We are a student organization at Wayne State University that meets once a week to do meditations, talk about mindfulness, watch inspirational videos, journal on different quotes and prompts, and go on nature walks. Our main goal is to help students balance their busy schedules with something to relax with. Meditation is the perfect way to calm down all the stress and anxiety throughout the day, and it helps build a positive attitude for the upcoming events/ classes. We plan to take an MBSR, mindfulness-based stress reduction, course as a group to help beginners understand more about how we can use mindfulness and meditation to reduce our daily stress. We have general meetings once a week in person at Student Center on Mondays 1:15-2:30 pm. We also have additional discussion meetings for students who are more interested in the philosophy and spiritual practices of three major philosophies: Stoicism, Buddhism, and Daoism.
